laptop battery power management

Most laptops has the function of automatic frequency reduction, this function’s advantage is prolong the laptop battery using time. The users of  Celeron CPU based laptop might puzzled, their laptops don not have this function, So is it have no way to save power? The CPU is just one part of the save power union, actually.

If you are a Windows xp user, you can find the laptop battery power management options in the Windows XP control panel. Choosing “power using scheme”, then setting LCD screen in idle 10 minutes to close, and set the disk above 15 minutes. Because the momentary boot disk requires a certain power, and frequently start or stop will damage the disk. Of course you can close the screen manually, most laptop can do this by FN function key and F3 key.

So, when edit the document or some other common application, the screen brightness should adjusted to the 7 level or lower 6 level appropriate. Meanwhile, the  CPU can also set up to best battery performance, CPU fan operation state set up to “equilibrium” more laptop battery power saving.

Be aware of some laptop have no battery management software (because they have no built-in power management chips), but we also can use common battery monitoring software to manage the laptop battery.
